Saint Therese of the Child Jesus charm made of a tiny print of a painting by Sue Kouma Johnson.
One side is Therese as a child, the other has a quote from her, "Do small things with great love." It measures 3/4" x 3/4". Glass on both sides and silver edged, this is very pretty on a chain.
This painting was done with reference to a photo of a fairly recent saint, well-loved by many in the Catholic Church, St. Theresa of Lisieux, or "The Little Flower." She lived and died at the end of the nineteenth century as a girl, really. She was only 24 when she died, as a Carmelite nun. During her last illness she was ordered to write her story, which she called The Story of a Soul. It spells out her simple spirituality, the way of littleness, or spiritual childhood. That is why she likes to portray her as a child.
